Subtitle: Be Careful What You Ask For.
Robin and I this past week have been earnestly praying about doing a CDTS through YWAM this summer/fall. Robin has been wanting to do one for a couple of years, she was just waiting for me to come around. Well I finally felt we need to seriously consider doing it, even though it would mean quitting jobs and selling our house. The CDTS is 5-6 months long, and consists of 2-3 months training and then a 2-3 month outreach. Well be careful what you ask for. God may answer your prayers in a flash. We got a bit of confirmation yesterday, I was laid off from my job. We see this as a confirmation that God really wants us to pursue this and enter into full time missionary work. We are excited about what God is going to do for us and through us. We will continue to trust in Him, and trust in His provision to see us through and into the mission field.

wow - that's all i can say about that one. i got chills when i read it - God is good, that's for sure! i'll be praying for you that this works out, if it is a God thing that you go. where would you go to do it, anyway? ahh! i'm jealous! haha i'd LOVE to hear more details about it sometime.
ReplyDeleteyour subtitle really caught my eye - "be careful what you ask for". that's def. been my thought lately as God has been answering a difficult prayer of mine. i was actually talking to some other people yesterday about being careful b/c they have the same thing going on too! (one girl prayed for patience the other day.... uh-oh!) haha God is def. good though, that's for sure!
We love that God is moving you guys in this direction but Deb and I are going to miss you and your family far more than words can say when the time comes for you to go. Our prayers are with you guys and if you need anything please let us know.
ReplyDeleteI recently heard a quote from a pioneer missionary to Mexico. He used to tell his kids, "Why stoop to be a king when you could be a missionary?" I tell you the truth, there is no greater honor and blessing than representing Christ to the nations. I think your willingness is all God is looking for. He'll take care of the rest. You will see that as you have surrendered your will and future to Him, He will work out all the details and it will be pretty much an easy road. Keep us updated and if you ever want to visit our area of Mexico, we would be happy to show you around and put you up.
